Cloves contain a compound called eugenol, which has insect-repelling properties. You can make a DIY mosquito spray by mixing clove essential oil with water or another carrier oil, like coconut oil. Just be cautious with the concentration, as essential oils can be strong and may cause irritation if not diluted properly.

Recipe for Clove Oil Mosquito Spray 

To make clove oil mosquito spray, you'll need:

10-15 drops of clove essential oil like this 

2 tablespoons of carrier oil (such as coconut oil or olive oil)

1 tablespoon of vodka or witch hazel

1 cup of water

Mix the clove essential oil, carrier oil, and vodka/witch hazel together in a spray bottle. Add the water and shake well to combine. Spray the mixture around your home or onto your skin to repel mosquitoes. Remember to shake the bottle before each use, as the oil and water may separate.
